Tyre Recycling for a Greener World
STEG has developed a new environmentally clean concept of storing old tyres using storage burial cells which can then be retrieved if needed in the future.

The system works by baling 100 tyres with a press which is then bound with steel straps and compressed into a cube, each cube weighing 1 tonne. This method removes air in the cavity wall of the tyres, stopping the tyres from burning and reduces mosquito breeding.

The bales are then stacked into the burial cells saving space and land area. The burial position is monitored and logged with G.P.S. It is then capped off with soil mixed with clay which totally covers the burial cell area.

Trees are then planted on top. The tyre cells become an aquifer for the trees to establish. No watering is required as the ground will hold good moisture retaining any rain water that drains through the bales trapping water pockets.
The future in recycling tyres is by using the new STEG concept.
